Excellent client side 23 month FTC Technical Project Manager job in Construction based in Liverpool, Merseyside

£43,908 + flexitime, excellent pension scheme

Your new company 
You will be joining Merseyside Police Estates team, who due to the implementation of their 10 year Estate Strategy are looking to appoint a Technical Project Manager on a Fixed Term Contract of 23 months to the team in Liverpool, Merseyside. The role is to manage the externally appointed consultancy Project Team in delivering predominantly new build schemes across the Region. 

Your new role 
You will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control delivery and closure of multiple construction projects relating to the Estate Strategy, to lead, manage and motivate a professional team of technical personnel to provide building construction and design services expertise. You will Project Manage construction projects from inception to the authorisation of payment of the final account, including the design and development of schemes, feasibility studies, refurbishments and new build. The role will be to develop and maintain project documents to ensure clear measurement of each project’s status, to include, stage cost plans, cost management on all project activities and contractual conditions of performance with the contractor. You will be accountable for all Health and Safety issues, to include risk assessment. You will Chair progress meetings and produce detailed reports on progress of projects. You will be responsible to the Budget Holder for managing and monitoring the expenditure of the various new build and refurb projects of financial value from £500,000 up to £45,000,000.

What you'll need to succeed 
You will be educated to degree level or hold an equivalent recognised Building and Design qualification ideally MRICS or MCIOB. You will also have a proven track record for delivering major construction projects from design and technical specification and development of designs into schemes, from inception through to completion. You must be able to assemble and evaluate the tender documents, including specifications, schedules, etc for major refurbishments, and newbuild construction projects and convey that technical information to others by using various media. You will have experience of supervising, leading and motivating a professional technically skilled team from a mix of external consultants and internal staff in a fast moving and constantly changing environment. Proficiency and experience in Autocad computer aided design packages is required, together with the ability to understand and interpret working drawings.
