Consultant Building Surveyor

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant with experience of building surveying.  Joining our existing Building Surveying and Asset Management team within the Manchester office, you will develop a range of valuable skills and knowledge.  You will play an active role in providing all kinds of built environment services, covering clients' needs, varying from local residential projects to large commercial sites. Because of the incredibly varied nature of our work, it is vital that you are highly flexible and keen to learn and grow in all of the areas and sectors that we work in.

You will report to our Principal Building Surveyor based in Manchester. Your role is to assist in the delivery of projects to support the business, financial management and operational effectiveness.

Your role

From day one, you will be involved in a variety of duties.  You will assist senior team members undertaking projects including condition surveys, design work, audits, special inspections and investigations to name a few. You will produce reports, schedule maintenance work and support contract procurement and project management. Working with colleagues who are experts in their field, you will discover how to develop leading edge solutions, maximise technical quality and efficiency, achieve project revenue targets and use specialist software. Crucially, you will learn to exceed clients' highest expectations. You will be working towards achieving your chartered status within 2-4 years.

  • Appropriate technical qualification
  • Following a structured progress towards chartered status, although WYG can set this up when you start
  • Reliable technical abilities

  • Knowledge of relevant software solutons
  • Driving licence
  • Suitability for security clearance

You will be joining the North Belt team who are part of the Asset Management sector of WYG which encompasses professionals throughout the UK, including members of RICS, CIBSE and the Institute of Asset Management and who include a range of disciplines including building surveying, building services and asbestos consultancy, offering public and private clients around the world expertise through the full project life cycle, including design, procurement and management.
