Senior Property Surveyor - Kendal

This is where you come in…

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Senior Property Surveyor to join our team at our office in Kendal, Cumbria. You will join the Access & Acquisitions team to help ensure that our projects on urban and rural private land are delivered on time whilst complying with our statutory obligations and budgetary constraints.

What will you focus on?

Your role will be to acquire sites, consents and legal interests in land; provide valuation, budgets, mitigation and property related advice on the positioning and routing of our schemes; estimate and negotiate compensation claims arising from pipeline construction for loss or damage to property; confirm land ownerships in order to serve legal notices and prepare record of condition survey reports.  

You will provide a comprehensive professional valuation service to Asset Management and Delivery and Engineering, to include advice on land and property issues on all capital projects. 

What do you need?

You will be a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Commercial or Rural Practice) and have a relevant degree in Estate or Property Management or equivalent.

You will require excellent communication and decision making skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of people and have a wealth of relevant experience in this role.

Working knowledge of the relevant sections of The Water Industry Act 1991 relating to access to private land.

Extensive experience of dealing with claims for compensation under Schedule 12 of the Water Industry Act 1991 for both agricultural and commercial land.

Strong organisational and planning skills together with confidence and self-motivation are vital.

A full driving licence is essential.

This is a challenging role which demands the initiative to manage a large and varied workload.
