My client, a large multi disciplinary firm of construction and engineering consultants now have a requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work in Cumbria. You should have a BSc or similar in Quantity Surveying and ideally be MRICS / MCIOB or similarly qualified. It is essential that you have good experience of the NEC3 contract and have gained experience of infrastructure type projects e.g. nuclear, rail, oil & gas, water sectors. Duties will include:- Prepare estimates and cost plans; provide financial advice; advise on contract procurement; assist in the development of programmes for the delivery of our clients' services; prepare valuations and financial statements, re-measure as necessary and adjust variations; assist in the settlement of construction disputes and prepare and agree final accounts; attend design team and progress meetings; review of Scopes of Work and cost submissions from contractors; manage and support to Cost and Price Analysis reviews; manage and undertake monthly valuations to arrive at the assessment of amount due to contractors; compilation of reports on monthly basis summarising contracts financial / commercial position; liaison with cost engineers for raising of appropriate Purchase Requisitions / Purchase Orders and general financial management; support to client in management of preparation of business case and funding sanction requests; preparation / maintenance of FCAC values on behalf of the client; reporting of ACWP and Cost Variances per the clients reporting periods; review of contractors forecasts and feedback as required; preparation of final and interim accounts including review of full underpinning and substantiation as needed including auditing of contractors actual cost ledger system and reconciliation with pay slips, timesheets and subcontract accounts; contract administration including co-ordination, preparation, expediting, response, assessment of / to Quotations / RFC's; drafting of contractual correspondence including letters to contractors regarding valuations, basis of contract; monitoring of Limits of Liability showing Contractor actual / forecast spends with accounting of the clients liabilities placed and anticipated contractors long lead procurements; interface with commercial department and Project Delivery Organisation; management of procurement files.
