Senior Building Surveyor 

This is a newly created opportunity that has been created through my client’s expansion. They are a niche organisation with high end clients and a commitment to quality and high end service. They have an exemplary reputation within the industry and a wonderful team into which this position will fit.

Duties include:

•Management of 2 Graduate team members: appraisals, KPI setting, performance management, target setting and professional mentoring.
•Responsible for the delivery of technical documents for projects and tenders
•Review all technical documentation from clients, suppliers and sub-contractors
•Supervise and coordinate survey operations on allocated projects
•Collate and QC survey data, computations, reports and final survey reports
•Develop processes in accordance with company procedures and rules
•Attend project meeting reviews
•Prepare and / or validate preliminary studies and plans
•Plan, prepare and deliver notes for design and installations
•Plan, prepare and deliver installation procedures
•Follow-up execution of project drawings
•Plan, prepare and deliver requisitions and / or specifications

Technical Competencies:

•Ensuring projects are completed on budget and to schedule;
•Working on a varied project portfolio including high residential
•Advising clients on schemes and projects and determining requirements;
•Preparing scheme designs with costings, programmes for completion of projects and specification of works;
•Preparing documents for tender and advising on appointing contractors, designers and procurement routes;
•Determining the condition of existing buildings, identifying and analysing defects, including proposals for repair;
•Advising on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction;
•Advising on the preservation/conservation of historic buildings;
•Advising on management and supervision of maintenance of buildings;
•Dealing with planning applications and advising on property legislation and building regulations;
•Assessing and designing buildings to meet the needs of people with disabilities;
•Advising on construction design and management regulations;

Person Specification

•Degree level or equivalent
•Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
