The Building Surveyor is responsible for ensuring that Friends of the Elderly’s property portfolio - its fabric, plant, equipment, fittings and grounds – is maintained to the highest standards.
The role involves preparing specifications and drawings and end to end management of a programme of works and maintenance contracts in accordance with good practice in project management. It includes providing professional and technical support to service managers and their maintenance staff as well as providing a responsive service where necessary (and occasionally out-of-hours).
There are 14 homes in total, from Nottingham to Haslemere and Colchester to Malvern, providing quality care in a first class setting to some 450 residents.
We seek an experienced Building Surveyor, either professionally or academically qualified in an engineering, building surveying or facilities management discipline who can ensure our premises are well maintained, comply with all relevant codes of practice, statutory requirements, fire and health and safety guidance.
The properties must be maintained efficiently to ensure that our residents, staff and visitors live, work or visit in comfortable, safe environments They must also be maintained effectively to ensure that our substantial property assets retain their value and our services their respected place in the community.
