At the forefront of the Covid response and economic recovery, DWP will remain 'front and centre' in the Government’s  efforts to support people through the recovery and back into work. When Covid-19 struck, DWP immediately took a critical role in ensuring people received vital financial support. DWP has already put in place a programme of work to support economic recovery, ranging from influencing decisions  on emergence from lockdown (eg changing social distancing measures) to re-designing a future Jobcentre Plus  service, and future contracted employment provision to ensure well-targeted, and deliverable support is available.

We employ over 91,000 people in varied roles, from delivering services on the front line in communities across the  country, to developing policy to tackle some of the biggest strategic questions of the age.
