PHILOSOPHY

Cockrams Surveyors is a private fully independent firm of Chartered Surveyors. There are no ties to Estate Agents, Banks or Financial Institutions. The company acts in the best interest of and only for the individual private client. The company prides itself on diligent inspections and accurate comprehensive reports based on a depth of knowledge and great experience in residential buildings and the property market.

HISTORY

Cockrams was originally formed in Devon in 2009 and relocated to Falmouth in February 2010, extending the geographic work area across Cornwall.  The Company quickly expanded, resulting in a move from a home office environment to offices in Lemon Street, Truro in July 2011. In 2018 further expansion gave the Company the opportunity to move to larger premises at St Piran House, Truro Technology Park in Truro.

Cockrams has always specialised in providing Pre-purchase Surveys and Valuations, but it became obvious that the market in Cornwall was much different to that in Devon, more people were relocating to the area requiring alterations and improvements to the properties they were buying, and different building materials required additional knowledge and skills.   

The Company continues to grow in all sectors and now includes additional services such as Contract Administration and Project Management, Architectural Services, Surveys & Valuations, Expert Witness, Boundary, and Party Wall Services, Mundic Testing etc.  Our ethos is built around professionalism and excellent customer service, and we continue to build an excellent reputation, increase numbers of returning clients and recommendations across our business portfolio.

SERVICES

Cockrams Surveyors provides a wide range of services to its clients. Central to the business is Building Surveys, Intermediate Surveys, HomeBuyers Reports and Valuations. The company also undertakes specialist services such as Mundic Block testing, expert witness in disputes, architectural design, planning, Building Regulation specifications, tendering and project administration/management.

We do not profess to be the cheapest in the field but we do offer great value for money. We provide a highly professional yet personal service to our clients tailored to the individuals’ needs. We are approachable and are happy to talk directly with our clients about the property they propose to purchase or service we are providing. We are not tied to any other institution so our clients’ best interest is our only concern.
