An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join a leading property consultancy who specialise in the investigation of and reinstatement of commercial, industrial and residential building after insured losses. Earning up to £50,000 plus extensive benefits and working in the South East of England, this position would suit an ambitious Chartered Building Surveyor looking to join a global leader in the field.
Working within the Surveying Services Projects team you will be involved in and lead numerous projects to reinstate commercial and high value domestic properties following damage by an insured peril. Projects can range up to £1M in value.
Dependant on the size and complexity of each project you may work alone or lead a small project team. You will be involved in a wide range of surveying activities, ranging from technical reporting, defects diagnosis, preparing Schedules of Works, Contract Administration and Project Management. Centralised admin support is provided.
The successful Chartered Building Surveyor will have/be:
- MRICS quailifed, ideally with 2-5 years post Qualification experience
- Advanced working knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation
- Able to plan projects to ensure robust control of time and cost - project management experience is therefore desirable
- Experienced in schedule preparation and contract administration of building projects
- Highly responsible and decisive but also a team player
- Able to proactively manage your own caseload
- I.T. literate, particularly with MS word and Excel
- Able to appreciate the importance of delivering outstanding customer service
- Full UK driving licence essential

Composure under pressure, excellent communications skills and empathy are key due to the nature of the role and the need to be able to arrive on site of a crisis quickly and build effective relationships with policy holders. Insurance knowledge is desirable but not essential.
