Senior Estates Surveyor/ Valuer – New Forest District Council – Appletree Court, Lyndhurst

Salary Range: £34,892 - £38,683 per annum

Additional payments: Car Allowance

Work Location: Appletree Court

Hours per week: 37 Hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council as a Senior Estates Surveyor due to expansion of our Estates and Valuation Team. The E&V Team’s role has been growing and provides a comprehensive property service across the Council in the acquisition, disposal, management and valuation of land and property owned and leased by the Council

The post holder will undertake valuations and carry out estate management responsibilities for all purposes associated with an extensive and diverse property portfolio including acquisition, disposal, rent review, lease renewal, rates and capital accounting involving working with senior officers and managers across the Council.

The post holder will also be involved with the implementation, development and delivery of the Council’s property related strategies, including its new commercial property Asset Investment Strategy.

The postholder will be required to have excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills; will be educated to degree level or equivalent and be a member of the R.I.C.S with a minimum of five years relevant experience.

Experience in general practice, commercial and residential property with ability to work within a corporate property environment is essential, This will entail having the ability to write and present reports at a high level.

Ideally, candidates will have a sound working knowledge of GIS systems and property records databases, together with some experience of the relevant planning and/or housing legislation and policies. Previous experience in a supervisory role will also be an advantage.

The successful candidate must hold a valid UK driving license and have a car available for use at work.
