Organisational Overview

City Property (Glasgow) LLP was established on 1 October 2009, in order to provide for the management, development and disposal of Glasgow City Council’s Non Operational Surplus Land and Property Assets as well as providing management services for the Council’s longer term commercial ground leases.

City Property Glasgow (Investments) LLP was specifically established by City Property to acquire Glasgow City Council’s non operational investment portfolio in March 2010. The portfolio extends to around 2000 commercial properties across a range of sectors including industrial, retail, office and ground leases.  The leases for the markets at Blochairn are managed by the Investment LLP.

City Markets Glasgow was established in June 2008 and merged with City Property in February 2012 and operates a number of markets within Glasgow

Education, Qualifications & Training

Essential

You will be a Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with up to 2 years post qualification experience and eligible for Registered Valuer Status without the need for further assessment. 

Hold a Full UK Driving Licence

Skills, Knowledge & Competencies

Essential

Is a strong influencer and negotiator, who is self-motivated with excellent communication skills.

A proven track record within the field of property valuation with experience across all asset disciplines.  Strong valuation report writing skills is a must.

Carrying out residual valuations of residential and mixed use developments.

An in-depth knowledge of the RICS Valuation – Professional Standards current editions (the ‘Red Book’).

Strong negotiation skills with previous experience in negotiating property disposals and acquisitions independently.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment, frequently under pressure, on multiple tasks.

Demonstrates a proven track record in time management and has strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Evidence of strategic thinking whilst maintaining a firm grasp of operational priorities.

Be politically aware with the ability to think strategically and implement policy.

Skilled in the use of information technology including all Microsoft programmes.

 

Conducting Site and property inspections, preparing site notes and measured surveys.

Desirable

Demonstrates the ability to work with people at all levels.

Experience of development appraisal software such as Prodev and/or Argus/Circle.

Knowledge/understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards – based Code of Practice on Local Authority Accounting (the ‘Code’).

Experience in preparation of property option reports for potential development opportunities.

An understanding of Compulsory Purchase and Compensation.
