The Role

As an Estates Manager you will ensure all types of legal land rights required for the successful delivery of each project are negotiated and secured within a projects financial budget parameters and then managed throughout project development and construction phases. You will do this by implementing land assembly strategies that identify project specific land risks and suggest mitigation that ensures potential land issues do not cause any delay to development or construction project programmes. You will also be expected to provide professional service and advice to the project team on a variety of land related disciplines.

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate experience in building, maintaining, and leveraging relationships with internal project and all relevant 3rd party stakeholders. You will be commercially astute, a strong negotiator, with a solid understanding of valuation principles for the purchase and lease of land and of levels and methods of assessing compensation for land use losses.

A good understanding of the electricity industry, development / planning processes and associated legislation would be advantageous. You will have established knowledge of agricultural practices, forestry, environmental legislation, sea and land rights. An appreciation of the contractual relationships between parties and the ability to manage external professionals by demonstrating an excellent understanding of various mechanisms to legally secure rights to land and the ability to deliver a high standard of written work and record keeping is essential.

MRICS Rural or equivalent qualification and experience in CPO process is desirable but not essential.

A full driving license and the ability to travel throughout the UK with occasional over night stay is essential.
