Great opportunity for a MRICS Chartered Surveyor, to join a small team working in a lead role working on a large property portfolio for a very successful retailer. This is a home based role with travel as required.

Description

The Senior Estates Manager will not only be responsible for the Estates Management of part of the portfolio, but will also support the development of the team and its external supplier contracts, and will be able to deputise for the Head of Estates.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assist the Head of Estates in developing and improving the Estates team to meet the current and future demands of the business.
• Working with landlords regarding property management issues, lease renewals and lease breaks
• Proactively plan, secure agreement to and deliver lease renewals, lease variations and rent reviews in a timely and efficient manner with our professional advisors.
• Ensure that all property agreements are correct and take responsibility that an information input by the Estates Assistants onto the Company's property database is accurate.
• Provide advice on leases and estates matters to the Company, instruct and manage solicitors and other external professionals to properly manage landlord notices and other legal property matters.
• Be responsible for the lease termination process including legal notices, surrenders, effective lease breaks and dilapidation's with landlords, sub let tenants, and external professionals.
• Hold our external professionals including solicitors and surveyors to account, to ensure they deliver accurately, on time and to the highest standards.
• Assist the Head of Estates in developing and improving the Estates team to meet the current and future demands of the business.

Profile

Relevant candidates for the Senior Estates Manager will be MRICS Chartered Surveyors with experience of managing a leasehold portfolio in the Retail or Leisure sectors. This may have been in an in-house or outsourced capacity.

They will have operated at a Senior level, or be ready to step in to a Senior level role, with an interest in taking a wider role in the development and strategy of the Estates Management team.

This is a home based role with travel to their headquarters and within the portfolio as required. Whilst in theory you could live anywhere, a base location within 1-2 hours of Birmingham would be preferable as allows easier travel across their estate.
