Location: London (Regular UK and International travel required)

Salary: £85,000 - £100,000

This is an exciting opportunity for a Director with experience of - and a real passion for - leading a UK wide building surveying team within a multi-disciplinary business. Joining our Surveying and Asset Management and Building Surveying team within the UK, you'll already have a wide range of valuable management skills and experience technically and commercially. You will be expected to support and grow the existing team. This is a strategic business management and a very client facing role and you will be expected to manage an operational business from a P+L perspective as well as developing new clients, winning tenders and playing an active part on the leadership of projects.

Your Role

You will report to the Managing Director of the Surveying and Asset Management business and be responsible for leading, driving and growing an established building surveying business across the UK as well as expanding on our international activities.  You will proactively contribute to the development of the client base, support and develop a culture of collaborative cross-discipline working, leading by example alongside developing and maintaining business relationships.  You will set and manage client expectations and agree fee schedules and commercial terms. You will also develop a business plan for the team including exploring key business development opportunities and be a proven 'work winner'. You'll develop leading edge solutions, maximise technical quality and efficiency and achieve project revenue targets.

You will be joining the existing team who are part of the Surveying and Asset Management capability of WYG which encompasses professionals throughout the UK, including members of RICS, CIBSE and the Institute of Asset Management and who include a range of disciplines including building surveying, mechanical, electrical and energy services, safety management, asbestos consultancy and geospatial and data management, offering expertise to public and private clients around the UK and globally through the full project life cycle, including design, procurement and management.

About You

A proven business leader, you will be qualified to degree level, with appropriate professional memberships and relevant industry with some experience at a senior level and hunger to grow your presence in the industry in a national role within a dynamic multi-disciplinary professional service business. Experienced in successfully running substantial projects from inception to completion, with the ability to write fee and project bids and perform effectively at tender interviews. You will have recognised management experience, the ability to manage other professionals and assistants and to collaborate and influence other team members and clients.  You will have a very good understanding of financial management and natural commercial acumen.

You should also be suitable for security clearance.
