Senior Corporate Landlord Surveyor

Salary: PO11 £60,714 - £64,086 p.a.

The London Borough of Waltham Forest is committed to Creating Futures, our new Corporate Strategy. This provides a fresh focus and a clear sense of direction. We are fiercely ambitious and strive continuously to make sure each and every one of our residents enjoys a quality life in London.

Effective Property and Asset Management is a key enabler of change and critical to the success of the council achieving our corporate strategy. We have restructured our service, so it is positioned for the future. We work collaboratively with all stakeholders, both across the council and externally, in driving change and making service improvements.

We are recruiting forward-thinking and innovative professionals who’ll place Property and Asset Management at the heart of the Council’s broader organisational change agenda.

About you

As a Chartered Surveyor, you will have extensive experience in a similar sized complex organisation managing teams delivering all aspects of asset management/corporate landlord services. This will be combined with experience of establishing and managing client reporting structures and delivering a client led approach.

This will come hand in hand with experience of developing a high performing team. You’ll adopt a coaching style approach that gets the very best out of people and creates a positive working environment.

Aside from the above, you will demonstrate effective budget management including forecasting of expenditure and income, as well as producing work programmes and providing regular progress reports.

About us

Over the past few years, Waltham Forest has changed drastically. Good schools, great parks, excellent culture facilities, mass regeneration and budding community entrepreneurship are making it a place that people want to call home.

Waltham Forest as a council has also changed, and despite the challenges of austerity, the organisation has seen its highest ever levels of resident satisfaction. As funding reductions continue, Waltham Forest is creating a council for the future.

Waltham Forest Council is an employer of choice.  We offer a huge range of benefits to make working with us more than worthwhile. These include flexible working options, plus learning and development opportunities which will offer the chance to progress your career further. In addition, we offer some serious financial benefits including a defined benefit pension scheme whereby the Council pays more than double the employee’s contribution towards a pension payable on retirement.
