Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 plus benefits

About the Building Surveyor vacancy:

This company is a regional consultancy in Central London and they undertake a range of private sector projects mainly within the retail sector.  They are currently working for a large blue chip retail client who has a portfolio of retail and commercial properties which need a maintenance rollout program.   They are now looking for a Building Surveyor to work with this client and manage their range of fast paced projects.

The Central London office has a great team atmosphere and there are plenty of opportunities for the right individual to progress within the expanding company.

Responsibilities for the Building Surveyor

• Manage small value Capex projects in terms of VFM, managing contractors’ orders and payments and preparing monthly reports.
• Delivery of multiple Capex schemes across a large portfolio of properties, adhering to challenging budget and programme constraints
• Agreement of proposed contractors costs & management of orders and payments
• Provide other bespoke surveys, cost assessments, valuations and reports.

Ideal requirements for the Building Surveyor:

• Surveyor – working towards or already RICS qualified
• Minimum 4 years post-graduate experience
• Willing to work in a small organisation
• Experience of working on projects £5k to £1million in value

• Ability and experience in managing fast-track projects
• Experience in cost management of minor refurbishment projects
• Previous retail experience
• Experience of client facing work

• Experience of running multiple projects without supervision
• Experience in running large roll outs (Small value/ large volume projects)
