As the client-side Senior Project Manager you will be reporting into the Project Director and be responsible for the delivery of high profile central London based Hotel projects.

You will be involved with schemes that range from complete refurbishments of existing assets through to new build projects.

Client Details

Our client is a London based hotel property developer & operator. The successful candidate will be joining at a time of fast growth and a widening upper tier independent hotel portfolio. Over the last 3 years, the client has acquired approximately £500m worth of sites for development into multiple hotels with ambitions to grow further through acquisitions - a really exciting time to be joining.

Description

You will be a responsible second in command to the Project Director to help in the delivery of all Central London projects. In order to execute developments on time and within budget, you will need solid experience managing consultant teams, contractors and sub-contractors to ensure the quality of each project is at a very high standard. Alongside this, candidates must have a positive and proactive attitude towards all aspects of the company, which will enhance the team culture and personnel development of the business.

Working closely and reporting regularly to the Project Director and working alongside the rest of the development team the successful candidate will;

  • Assist the Project Director with multiple in-house projects on time and within budget through planning to completion and occupation;
  • Good 3rd party/external advisor people management skills;
  • Assist the Project Director getting schemes through planning stages if needed;
  • Manage the appointment with external consultants;
  • Show active interest with the rest of the team throughout the design stages and be confident to speak up with ideas when required;
  • Assist in driving the tender processes and the appointment of contractors;
  • Assist in managing the delivery phase and oversee contractors from the client side;
  • The candidate is to be able to work independently and for the majority of time on-site.

Profile

To be considered for the role of Senior Project Manager you will have a hotel, high-end residential, High-spec Commercial, or mixed-use project management experience and a demonstrable record of delivering schemes on time and on budget.

You may already be working with an existing developer or project management company, managing projects across the whole life cycle, or working at a consultancy. Different backgrounds will be considered, but previous experience of having done something similar is essential.

You will have strong people management skills, be comfortable reading cost plans, contractor appointment, managing design information and have a strong commercial understanding of the costs/program of development. Solid negotiation skills are essential.

Alongside the Project Director, you will be responsible for delivering projects on time and to budget. Therefore, obtaining decisions from the Team and foreseeing information requirements (be it from the contractor or to deliver the project to a high quality and on time) is key.

Interpersonal skills with an excellent ability to communicate and influence both effectively and efficiently are essential.

Furthermore you will have an analytical approach to project delivery. Having a hands-on detailed approach to project delivery and being able to work as part of a team will also be a key aspect of this role.
