Your new role

You will work within the Property Services team and will assist the Senior Surveyor in undertaking property management as part of the Council’s portfolio.

Key duties include;

  • Undertake and assume responsibility for own caseload as allocated by the Senior Surveyor.

  • Carry out and assist under supervision the property management of land and property (including multi- let buildings, garages etc) together with the granting of leases, licences, easements, wayleaves and the disposal of surplus land to adjoining homeowners.

  • To assist in the supervision of on-site staff

  • Under the supervision of the Senior Surveyor to supply valuation and property management advice on request to internal client departments.

  • Under the supervision of the Senior Surveyor, negotiate on behalf of the Council on a range of property matters including direct linkage with landlords, tenants, community organisations, central government departments other clients and service partners.

  • Under the supervision of the Senior Surveyor, carry out all work allocated to appropriate professional and technical standards ensuring service provision meets clear requirements and expected standards within area of responsibility.

  • Complete work within adopted timescales/performance standards

  • Ensure that quality standards and Council Policies are adhered to.

What you’ll need to succeed

You will need to be educated to degree level with the desire to learn and pursue a career in the property field, as well as an understanding of the principles of Valuation and Estates Management.

If you have a specialist Estates Management/Property related degree this may be seen as an advantage, as well as previous experience in the practical application of landlord and tenant property related legislation.

  • Location -The normal place of work will be the Ravenscourt Offices, Bridgend, although you may be required to work anywhere within the County Borough.
