The opportunity:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to utilise their existing skills and develop further into other areas of valuation, if desired. The team at large is able to offer a wide range of valuation services for both private and public sector clients. Depending on the candidate’s strengths and ambitions, the role may include working on residential development and investment valuations, existing residential property valuations, commercial property valuations and L&T, including for loan security purposes.

On a day-to-day basis the successful candidate will be advising a wide variety of institutional, private, local, and high net worth clients, primarily in Essex, Hertfordshire, East and North-East London. The role will be based at our offices in Chelmsford, Essex.

The person:

RICS qualified, and experience of working in a valuation role.

Come from a residential or commercial valuation background.

Experience of working within either a private or public sector environment.

Ideally a RICS registered valuer, although not essential.

Responsibilities

The role involves advising landlords and tenants on all lease matters including rent reviews, lease renewals and lease engineering for exit strategies and redevelopments renewals primarily for office buildings in the West End.

Be able to undertake bank valuations, homebuyer surveys and building survey reports. This role provides an opportunity for the Surveyor to develop their skills, knowledge and experience in all areas of valuation and survey from residential, commercial and block management activities supported through a network of other experienced surveyors.

Provide close support and assistance to the Agency and Investment teams

Develop relationships and work closely with clients through meetings and business presentations to secure future instructions/business

Perform comparable research

Maintain a network of both internal and external contacts and make use of these in order to gain information on relevant markets and new business opportunities

Requirements:

Understanding of lease issues / implications and basic Case law knowledge

Will be MRICS qualified with ideally a minimum of 2 years PQE

Must have a sound knowledge and understanding of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1954

You will need to be a qualified member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Registered Valuer.

Will need to be able to work under their own initiative and be self-motivated to generate new business and to be able to meet challenging targets. Good interpersonal skills are therefore essential.

Will need to have detailed knowledge of RICS rules and regulations.

A Driving Licence is essential.
