THE ROLE
This is an excellent opportunity for a PROJECT MANAGER or SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER who is keen to join a successful firm of construction consultants in their BRISTOL office to run your own projects.
You will have the opportunity of working on a range of building projects representing the client mainly in the public sector.
Ideally you will be MRICS, VIOB, RIBA, ICE or similarly qualified or working towards such qualification with good project management experience.
You may also be MAPM.
THE CLIENT
The client is a large firm of construction consultants with offices in the U.K. and abroad.
They work on project management and cost management across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, retail, hospitality, education, local authority, infrastructure and more.
THE CANDIDATE
My client is now seeking a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to work based from their Bristol office with visits for meetings, to site, consultants offices as required in the U.K.
You will need to have a Degree or Diploma in Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Construction Project Management, Architecture or Civil / Structural Engineering or similar and ideally you will be MRICS, MCIOB, ICE, RIBA or similarly qualified or working towards becoming chartered.
You should have gained around five years or more experience in Project Management in the construction industry and you will have worked for another firm of consultants, end user client or developer.
Ideally you will have worked on a variety of public sector projects from inception / feasibility through to project delivery.
Duties will also include planning and programming, leading steering group presentations, managing change control, process setting project strategies, contract administration etc.
Previous experience of NEC / JCT contracts preferred.
You will need to have excellent organisation and client facing skills along with being highly computer literate.
You should be able to run your own projects of various values, generally from around £1m to £20m.
Ideally you will have worked on projects for the public sector e.g. local authorities, universities etc.
A U.K. driving licence and your own vehicle is preferred.
