Corby Borough Council is looking to recruit a Estates Surveyor on a permanent basis. With an excellent benefits package this is an exciting opportunity for any estates surveyor looking to further their career with a local authority.

Purpose of the role Provide an effective, professional and timely valuation, commercial property advice and services in the management and development of the Council’s property portfolio; Appoint and manage outside consultants for those purposes when necessary on resource, expertise or other grounds as agreed by the Head of Service 

Summary of Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To assist with the day to day management of the Council’s property portfolio
  • To carry out and complete lease renewals, rent review and lease assignments
  • To negotiate land and property disposals
  • To carry out commercial and residential valuations
  • To carry out accurate development appraisals and analysing
  • To assist the Asset Manager and Head of Service with any property investment acquisition
  • To be knowledgeable in the use of electronic estate management and asset planning systems
  • To procure outside professional services
  • To critically evaluate practice and procedure in managing the corporate estate
  • To assist and guide the Trainee Surveyor with the APC process
Qualification & Development Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Membership of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
