Your new company
Hays are working in partnership with one of the UK's largest multifaceted consultancies, delivering property and infrastructure projects on a local, national and international scale. This consultancy are well renowned for delivering Quantity Surveying services on water, wastewater, leisure, health and building projects with a portfolio of public and private sector clients. Due to the success of the business at a local level and a number of new project wins, a position for a Quantity Surveyor (PQS) has become available on a permanent basis.

Your new role
Based in their Belfast office and reporting to the Associate Director, you will lead projects worth over £200M across the healthcare, infrastructure and commercial sectors. You will take full responsibility for the cost management of these high value projects, ensuring contracts are administered correctly. As a key aspect of this position you will be expected to maintain excellent relationships and lead progress meetings with a range of clients. Your role will be to ensure that a high level of technical, financial and commercial control is maintained on all projects.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be confident, articulate and possess excellent written and oral communication skills with a desire to progress in the field of Quantity Surveying. Candidates will be keen to progress to Chartered Status and undertake additional job-specific training.
Essential Requirements

  • HNC, HND, BSc/ MSc in Quantity Surveying
  • Working towards Chartered (RICS) status
  • Up to 5 years industry experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • MS Office Proficient
  • A full driving licence
  • Good planning and organising skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Team working

Desirable Requirements

  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Experience in health or building sectors
  • Experience of NEC3 Project Management (to discuss with MA/LS)
  • Programming (MS Project or similar) (to discuss with MA/LS)
  • BIM Proficient
