We have a requirement for an Associate Director to join our Global Building Standards team in London.  This is a permanent position paying a salary of between £65,000 and £75,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Global Building Standards is part of our International Standards Team, which is our ‘knowledge hub’ for in the production and adoption of standards.  They provide expertise on and insight into the areas of practice in which RICS professionals operate, generating highly relevant technical/practice market insight based standards & content that will gain recognition of RICS as the pre-eminent global provider of professional standards in land, property and construction. 

As part of this team, the role of Associate Director has the following responsibilities:

  • Gaining market insight, opportunities, risks and direction of these practice areas for RICS
  • Developing international standards in collaboration with a coalition of other professional bodies around the world
  • Developing mandatory Professional Statements and Guidance which underpin these international standards
  • Working with Regulation to ensure new standards and guidance are regulateable
  • Overseeing the digital forums, with the aid of the International Support team, and ensuring members of these forums receive up to date standards, guidance and other information as well as garnering market insights
  • Establishing steering groups regionally and by sector as required, to engage RICS professionals, firms and non-members in the sector
  • Establishing leaders’ forums events regionally and by sector as required, to engage RICS professionals, firms and non-members in the sector
  • Assisting with driving adoption of standards in the world regions
  • Presenting at conferences and seminars.

 

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Preferably qualified Chartered Building Surveyor or Chartered Building Control Surveyor (MRICS/FRICS) or AssocRICS 
  • Significantly wide knowledge of the surveying profession and practice within the relevant sectors
  • High professional credibility, able to command the respect of industry experts
  • Good industry contact base
  • A good understanding of the RICS and its role in the relevant sector together with knowledge of routes to qualification
  • Significant professional knowledge, experience and expertise to enable development of and adoption of RICS standards and other technical content for the UK.
  • Significant practical experience of all areas of professional practice in the relevant sectors
  • Experience of standards and key messaging with influential stakeholders
  • Experience of developing significant network of relevant stakeholders
  • Experience of financial and project management
