Associate Cost Manager

We have been appointed to secure an experienced, team leading, Associate Cost Manager by a well regarded top 10 Construction Consultancy. 

This position has been created as we are looking for a successor to take responsibility of a key client, major regeneration project and internal team

The firmhas network of offices through the UK and Internationally, from which they provide a full range of construction consultancy services. They are privately owned and the shareholders are all fee earners in their own right lead, as well as leaders of the business. The company although well established doesn’t have the corporate, face less feel of some businesses, they are more considered, caring of their teams well being and offer long term careers.

The role, you will be responsible for a key and significant client relationship that will require patience, understanding, diplomacy and the foresight to add value within a challenging environment. The project that you will deliver is a significant mixed use development, made up of commercial, residential and retail. There are currently two cost teams on the project, one commercial and the other residential, you would be responsible for the commercial team and as your relationship with the client grows become ultimately responsible for both teams.  This position has been created as the current lead is retiring in the next 18 months and it is vital to get the successful candidate embedded and positioned to be promoted to Director.

The individual will come from a consultancy or developer background, will be professional, well connected, technically excellent, have a natural ability to lead teams and desire to take on responsibility, as well as grow client relationships. You will be used to working on large complex projects that are technically challenging, on constrained sites that require a high level of planning/ engineering that could easily mean without your intervention the costs spiral out of control. It will make life easier for the project and office base if you live in East or Southern London.
