Title: Director - Head of Building Surveying
Reports to - UK Director Building Surveying
Location - Manchester / North West
Qualifications - BSc in Building Surveying (or similar) / MRICS

The Role
We are looking for a qualified chartered Building Surveying professional to join this world renowned multi disciplinary construction consultancy based in the Manchester office. The firm operates internationally and is a well know name within the industry. As part of the continuous expansion across the UK we are seeking a Director to join the Commercial team.

The opportunity is very much orientated towards the development and further growth of the Building Surveying team to secure and deliver numerous schemes and developments in the North West. The role will include managing and planning resource, leading innovation, Client delivery, business development and promoting a professional and positive working environment.

This is a key appointment to expand the business service offering within the buoyant Manchester market, the appointment will be adding to the already strong Project Management team allowing future growth within the Northern Market.

Key Tasks
*Playing a key role within the business across the Manchester business Unit, working closely with clients to deliver a consistently high level of profitability and team utilisation.
*Developing strong client relationships with a key focus on adding value by ensuring consistent and high standards of delivery.
*Undertake aspects of operational management of various commercial development, including resources and workload planning, financial performance, quality assurance and business development.
*Promote and ensure quality standards and culture of the business
*Liaising with graduate recruitment and staff development.


Key Skills
*Ability to win repeat work but also to develop relationships with new clients to successfully achieve new business
*Demonstrate an ability to effectively financially manage a team delivering a number of projects.
*Must have excellent time management skills, being able to effectively prioritise and delegate against deadlines.
*Forceful and persuasive but able to listen and communicate effectively
*Established, quality working relationships with clients and colleagues


Experience
*Knowledge of the industry, possibly a recognised profile within the North of England
*Proven experience in a senior level role or Director Level
*Experience working in a large consultancy or client organisation
*Detailed knowledge of our competitors, understand our market differentiators and help to shape them
*Possess confident business development skills, understand the external market and forward workload
*Experience in preparing bids and tendering
*Proven team management skills and experience
