Our client, a leading global consultancy are looking for a Senior Cost Consultant to join their Birmingham team. In this role, you'll provide Professional Quantity Surveying and Cost Management services to high-profile Higher Education clients. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking to flourish in their career and not be squeezed into a corporate box.

The role:

You will be responsible for supporting Directors in achieving service excellence and positive outcomes for our clients within the education sector; showing high levels of technical capability, sound commercial knowledge and a good understanding of the key drivers or cost and value; capturing and sharing knowledge and driving innovation in service. Successful candidates will be presented with a great opportunity for career progression whilst at the same time being exposed to cross sector experience. Previous consultancy experience and proven success in the education sector is essential.

This Senior Cost Manager role will require you to be able to interpret a brief from a client or senior manager and convert into a delivery plans. You will also be asked to demonstrate the ability to take ownership of small to medium sized projects or significant components of larger Cost Management assignments; so the following education and qualifications are essential;

Experience and Qualifications:

* MRICS or working towards chartership
* Degree qualified or equivalent in quantity surveying or other relevant business discipline.
* Experience in a substantial role in delivery of medium to large projects (£50m to £200m+)
* Ideally experience of Education clients.
* Excellent pre and post contract technical cost and commercial management skills
* Articulate in written and oral communication.
* Excellent prioritisation and self-management skills and ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
* An in-depth knowledge of different construction processes.
* Strong knowledge and record of accomplishment in the application of IT based solutions
* Must be agile for visiting clients in North West - Sheffield and Manchester.
* Be a strong team player but demonstrate the ability to take a leadership role as part of persona development planning.
