Our client is one of the UK’s largest residential development and regeneration businesses. An opportunity now exists for a senior and highly experienced development professional to take on an executive level role as Regional Development Director, responsible of the delivery of housing development for the Group in Scotland.

Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Group Director you will lead development activity in Scotland, including the identification, appraisal and prioritisation of development sites for potential acquisition by the Group and its companies.

You will ensure that the right sites are acquired, balancing both risk and opportunity and cash management within agreed tolerances. You will promote within your teams innovative thinking about planning, ensuring each development meets the needs of customers and stakeholders. You will lead projects through the full development cycle from inception through to investment stabilisation or exit. You will be responsible for maximising the value of land/development sites.

Skills & Experience Required

You will have a demonstrable track record of success at senior management level, ideally within a property development business or speculative housebuilder. Through the selection process, you will be able to evidence how your innovative approach to development has solved problems, maximised land usage and created outstanding homes.

Our client is looking for someone whose creative thinking goes well beyond simply considering how many standard units can be delivered on a site.

In addition, you will have a strong knowledge of the Scottish housebuilding sector, with demonstrable networks within Scottish authorities and government bodies.

The Group has had a strong presence in Scotland for a number of years, from our developments across the Lothians, Tornagrain, Inverness, Chapelton and Aberdeen. You will be given the autonomy and the responsibility to drive the future development programme of Scottish operations. You will have the support of a multi-disciplinary Group – from market sale, affordable housing, PRS, retirement living and commercial property – allowing you to fully realise our client’s placemaking vision of creating places that work when they work for everyone.
