Position Title: Building Control Surveyor Level 3
Salary: Grade 8 £33,136 to £37,107 (bar at £35,153) per annum
Contract Type: Permanent Full Time
Hours: 35 per week

Qualification(s) Required: Yes, Qualified to degree level or equivalent, in a related discipline and studying/gaining experience towards obtaining a professional membership of a building control related organisation – Chartered Assoc of Building Engineers (MCABE), Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or equivalent

You will form part of a team of Building Control professionals and will be responsible for providing a key role in ensuring a high standard of healthy, safe, sustainable and accessible buildings within the City is maintained through compliance with building regulation, dangerous structures, demolition, and safety at places of sport legislation.

To carry out this role applicants should be able to demonstrate proficient knowledge and experience of Building Control, with particular emphasis on the scrutiny of designs and inspection of work across the full spectrum of the construction industry. Applicants should be educated to degree level in a Building Control related discipline, which will lead towards corporate membership of an appropriate professional organisation, for example MCABE or MRICS

The Building Control team sits within the Planning, Building Control & Licensing section of the Growth & Neighbourhoods and Strategic Development Directorate and is comprised of building control surveyors and structural engineers.
