My client, one of the leading Social Housing providers in London and the South East. Are currently looking for a qualified Building Surveyor to join their team working on new build properties and existing assets. They pride themselves on the fact that they build 500 new homes a year, developments including outright sale and shared ownership.

As a Building Surveyor, candidates will:

  • Undertake stock condition surveys and pre validation surveys
  • Manage disrepair claims and carry out other property inspections, including fire risk and health and safety assessments in line with organisational policies and procedures, to ensure regulatory compliance and contract performance.
  • Produce reports and documentation for work specifications and tenders to assist in addressing and resolving issues to ensure the company is compliant with all relevant legislation
  • Carry out any large inspection works as requested by the Surveying Works Manager, which will include Disrepair and emergency works
  • Work with other departments and assist the surveying works manager to ensure compliance works, which will include undertaking FRA inspections
  • Tendering and managing quotes with various contractors for large works over £2000, sourcing new contractors if specialist and not on procurement list

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a HNC in Building, Surveying or equivalent disciplines, you will have proven experience in a building and surveying environment, preferably with HHSRS experience.
  • Holding and having access to a vehicle
  • Be proactive, well-organised and innovative problem solver, you will consistently demonstrate a customer first approach in your activities and will thrive on the challenge and opportunity this role will bring.
  • This will allow you to develop and maintain information and databases relating to the condition of assets, and will give you the ability to suggest appropriate remedies and strategies to address any building related issues
