Specific accountabilities

Based in London, the incumbent oversees a designated portfolio of assets in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, as part of the Paris-based European platform. He or she submits proposals, administers the implementation and monitoring of strategies and business plans and ensures that each asset’s approved budget is adhered to (from acquisition through development to disposition). He or she is also responsible for analyzing financial, operational and strategic matters and issuing recommendations to increase assets’ ROI. Moreover, the incumbent liaises with internal managers and teams as well as external partners.

  • Create or coordinate/supervise the creation of business plans to add value to designated assets:

Performance and management optimization;

 

Asset repositioning;

 

Development and redevelopment;

 

Leasing activities and relationships with major tenants;

 

Joint investment, funds and partnership tracking;

 

Ensure platform supervision;

 

  • Regularly review business plans and recommend courses of action to maximize returns;
  • Monitor performance and propose ways to optimize Ivanhoé Cambridge’s investment and management platforms;
  • Analyze, study and evaluate asset disposition opportunities in accordance with the Company’s strategic plan; issue relevant recommendations and, as needed, manage the disposition process;
  • Set up and oversee management contracts;
  • Ensure that investment and partnership agreements are adhered to;
  • Attend advisory committee meetings and maintain business relationships with the Company’s partners;
  • Analyze and interpret financial reports as well as monthly and quarterly reports related to plans and approved budgets; issue relevant recommendations;
  • Coordinate reporting for designated assets;
  • Ensure regular follow-up with partners/managers and the production of the various reports;
  • Coordinate production of annual budgets and multi-annual cash flow projections and supervise their implementation;
  • Prepare and present the necessary reports and documents for approval by the Company’s various committees; supervise assigned analysts;
  • Apply the Company’s CSR policies and code of ethics;
  • Gain an understanding of the markets where designated assets are located;
  • Visit designated assets on a regular basis;
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor or required as part of the job.

Key requirements

  • A professional holding a Bachelor or Master level diploma in finance, administration, real estate or accounting;
  • Minimum seven years of relevant experience;
  • Excellent written and spoken English; French would be an asset;
  • Team player who is self-motivated, curious, engaged, decisive and committed to continuous self-improvement;
  • Critical and analytical thinking;
  • Adaptability, business sense, and negotiation and communication skills;
  • Available to travel frequently for work.
