Rural Estate Surveyor

Cornwall

2 years fixed term contract

£27,000 - £30,000 per annum, plus Car Allowance

A unique opportunity has arisen for a recently qualified rural surveyor to join a vibrant team managing the Estate’s rural interests in Lostwithiel, Cornwall.  These include a portfolio of over 40 let farms and separately let residential properties, 330 miles of the Cornish coastline, 58 miles of river, an 80,000 acre mineral estate and a number of substantial historic assets and heritage properties.

The role would suit a forward thinking individual looking to further their experience with a progressive Estate encompassing a significant and diverse portfolio.

You will be a recently qualified Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) via the rural pathway.

You will have a sound practical understanding of farming and be an excellent communicator, able to converse effectively with the broad range of tenants on the estate, contractors and members of the public, as well as senior members of the Duchy Estate’s staff, Duchy Estate Council Members and personnel from HRH’s office. An interest in Marine and Minerals management is desirable but not essential, as training will be given.

You will have a real empathy with the sensitive management of the countryside, an enthusiasm to learn and deliver work accurately and on time.
