About the role

Wiltshire Council is looking for a qualified Building Surveyor to work within the SA&FM team. The council has a diverse portfolio of land and property which includes, multimillion pound office buildings, leisure centres, depots, commercial property and even a windmill. The SA&FM team provides a full range of estate management, maintenance and compliance activity for the council’s asset portfolio. 

As a SA&FM Building Surveyor, you’ll be providing expert advice and recommendations on how to best maintain the asset portfolio. You’ll be required to undertake or commission a full range of condition survey work, diagnose problems and specify remedial actions. Not only will you be able to apply your professional skills at a building level but also across the portfolio. You will lead the prioritisation of works and develop of a 5 year programme of planned maintenance which will be use to deploy the capital maintenance budget (currently £3m p.a).

About you

The right candidate will have a proven track record of providing professional building advice and hold full RICS membership. With excellent project management and ICT skills, you’ll have a keen eye for detail and appetite to drive continual improvement within the service. You’ll have excellent communication skills and be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, tenants, consultants and colleagues.
