Senior Building Control Surveyor

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea our Building Control Service is centred around three key objectives:

• Providing independent, impartial advice – working with our customers, helping them achieve compliance with the Building Regulations.
• Providing excellent customer service – providing a responsive, accessible and cost effective service to our customers.
• Keeping our community safe - providing a 24-hour/365 day dangerous structure service and robust enforcement regime

As a Senior Building Control Surveyor you will be the bulwark for our service - supporting the Head of Service, District Surveyor and Deputy District Surveyor in providing leadership to the team. In this role you will take the lead working with our Partner Authority Scheme (PAS) companies, acting as project surveyor for our partners in-borough and cross boundary applications.

Supported by our Principal Fire Engineer, you will lead on all major applications including schools, hospitals and housing/mixed use developments.

We require a Surveyor with excellent technical and commercial skills, who will be able to use their network to attract new business as well as strengthen our customer partnerships. This role also includes acting as a Dangerous Structure Surveyor, operating on a rota basis for emergency out of hours incident call outs.
