Job Details

Hughes and Associates Property Services are a multi disciplined practice of Chartered Surveyors established as a partnership in 1999 and became a limited entity in 2006. Through steady growth particularly in the last three years the practice is now looking for an experienced chartered building surveyor to move the building surveying section forward.

The role of Chartered Building Surveyor you will be responsible for the strategic management and development of assets.

You will be a member of a RICS with demonstrable experience of managing projects and budget and experience in stakeholder engagement and management.

The Role.

As a Building Surveyor you will be predominantly working with Public Sector and PFI buildings, providing property asset management advice and consultancy to optimize their capital funds to maintain and improve their property estate.

You will act as the principal point of contact for property related issues, providing forward planning, strategic direction, support and liaison and generally provide oversight of projects commissioned by Hughes and Associates. The role will require travel and some overnight stays in the UK

Responsibilities

  • Effective liaison with external advisors and internal teams to ensure efficient completion of appointment documents.
  • Management of Purchase Order numbers for the payment of fees relating to contract administration.
  • Data management and focus on accurate data from condition / asset surveys
  • Oversight of successful project delivery of business development opportunities Special Knowledge, Abilities & / Or Experience
  • A detailed knowledge of current healthcare and educational issues related to premises, including Asset Management Planning and statutory obligations.
  • Experience of preparing programmes of work, bids for funding.
  • The ability to demonstrate experience of Project Management.
  • Ability to work on own initiative or within a team to tight timescales.
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • An appreciation of the practical realities of managing estates.
  • The successful candidate will be customer focused have a flexible attitude to work.
  • You will be committed to personal and professional development of self and staff
  • Must have full driving licence.
