Property Managers
Nottingham
£50,010 - £56,510
Be part of the biggest property programme in the country.
This is an exciting time to join HMRC Estates: we’re moving from 170 offices in 2015 to 13 regional centres, five specialist sites and seven transitional sites by 2021.
Our 600+ strong team supplies, manages and maintains our spaces and places, ensuring they’re safe, secure and offer the best environment for our people to deliver HMRC’s mission, and provide value for money for the taxpayer.
We want to become the best estates department in Government, and we’re looking for an experienced all-rounder in estates management and property negotiations to help us deliver this.
As one of our trusted property managers, you’ll sit at the heart of the Estates Transformation function. You’ll report to the Deputy Director of Property, and you’ll line manage a small team. What’s more, you’ll operate as a senior leader within HMRC and Estates, contributing to the wider achievement of our goals.
You’ll be heavily involved in the delivery of our new regional centres, as well as the closure and disposal of current properties, all the while ensuring value for money and successful management.
The new Property Manager will take on the management of external property consultancy and support contracts. You’ll also help out junior colleagues whenever they need it with a strong emphasis on nurturing successful relationships, internally and externally.
You’ll maintain contact at all levels within HMRC Estates including the Executive Board. You can expect regular ongoing meetings and telephone calls with colleagues at every grade.
You’ll manage stakeholders like consultant advisors – from property specialists to solicitors – and at all times, you will ensure correct professional procedures are followed. From PFI partners to third party landlords, you’ll ensure that balanced and pragmatic decisions are made, in accordance with departmental governance needs and industry standards.
The new Property Manager will bring that great all-round experience we are looking for, in all aspects of estates management and property negotiations (especially when it comes to acquisitions and disposals). As a minimum, you’ll be AssocRICS accredited, and eager to gain full RICS accreditation within months of joining. Or, you will already be fully MRICS/FRICS qualified.
In return, you can look forward to a rewards package that includes:
- Competitive salary
- flexible working hours
- competitive pensions
- extensive talent, career and personal development, including a minimum 5 days’ training each year
- help with caring responsibilities, including special leave
- generous paid maternity, paternity and adoption leave
- a community volunteering programme, the opportunity to join a trade union, and discounted membership of local and national sports and social groups
- salary advances for travel costs, including annual season tickets and cycle-to-work schemes
Closing date: 5th October 2018
