Hinton Admiral is the home of the Meyrick family and the Estate today is a 300-year old organisation.

The Estate occupies much of the undeveloped land between the New Forest and the Bournemouth /Poole/Christchurch emerging city. The Estate has a diverse portfolio of assets  and operating businesses including farms, a large residential letting portfolio, forestry, heathland, flood meadows, solar farms and over 300,000 sq. ft. of buildings, many of which are ripe for redevelopment.

The Estate is looking to create a new position, Assistant Estate Manager for Environment and Urban Fringe, to manage the consequences of the imminent development of the Christchurch Urban Extension so that its impact on the Estate and the south-western quarter of the New Forest National Park is a positive one as well as manage the existing workload of a busy estate office.

The Assistant Estate Manager will support and report to the Estate Manager, but will also have regular contact with the Group Principal, George W. Meyrick.

The Position

  • Overseeing the successful delivery of the Roeshot Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace, a new 80 acre recreational space which will be managed by the Estate
  • Delivering a wider portfolio of SANG projects
  • Designing, advocating and delivering change to the highway and public rights of way network to remove inappropriate vehicle user and to support National Park purposes
  • Traditional rural estate management functions such as leasing and licensing; regulatory compliance; property inspections; growing the grazing business; maintaining the rent roll; and budget preparation, delivery and reporting 

The Individual

  • Want to work in a rural environment with a strong urban edge
  • Want to make things happen
  • Have experience of environmental or similar project management
  • Have property lettings experience including terrier software, property rental administration and a range of property letting contracts
  • Have experience of instructing contractors and directing works
  • Be able to establish good relationships and handle pressured situations
  • Have relevant professional or educational qualifications, such as a degree with an environmental, property or Town & Country Planning law component, or equivalent experience
  • Want to work as an integral member of the team
