Our placement year students are treated exactly the same as the rest of our staff. Under close supervision you will contribute to the business from day 1 getting knee-deep in real instructions and project work.

Our placement students do not rotate but are positioned with teams who understand their needs, and support them in kind.

At LSH your placement year can count towards your APC. This means it’s possible to sit your APC and qualify after just 12-18 months on a graduate scheme. We hope you agree, the potential is pretty neat!

We accept applications from students pursuing the following APC Pathways

  • Commercial property practice

  • Building surveying

Each year the following LSH offices typically host placement students:

  • Belfast

  • Birmingham

  • Bristol

  • Leeds

  • London

  • Manchester

  • Sheffield

The lowdown

As a placement year student you can expect:

  • 12 months practical, on-the-job experience which can count towards your APC

  • Involvement with real instructions for a wide range of clients and properties

  • A dedicated APC counsellor

  • 1-1 support from your manager

  • Access to both our elective and 1st Year APC training courses to help develop your business skills

  • A lively sports and social scene

You will receive all this in an inclusive, supportive and fun environment and to top it all off you will be rewarded with a competitive salary!

Can I get involved?

Our typical applicants are 2nd year students studying a RICS accredited undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Real Estate (or similar) or Building Surveying with a placement year option.

How to apply

The application process for placement year students is similar to that of graduates and is split into two parts. Both must be completed by midnight on the 30th November 2018.

Step 1: click the apply button below to complete a simple application form and upload your CV.

Step 2: click the VIDEO QUESTIONS link below to complete the task. You will be directed to another site where you must first register. You will then receive log-in details with a unique PIN code and full instructions on how to complete the video questions. You will have to answer 3 video questions and will have 2 minutes to answer each question (so max. 6 minutes in total to complete)

You must complete steps 1 & 2 before the deadline for your application to be considered. You do not have to complete the video questions straight away but we recommend you aim to complete them within a week of completing step 1.

Applications open now.

Close 30th November 2019
