The Role

We are appointing a Senior Estates Surveyor to join our corporate property service at an exciting time for the authority.

You will join a busy and friendly team of five, reporting to the Estates Manager.

The team is ambitious and growing. A series of strategic investments are helping drive shared regeneration plans forward and this is an opportunity to be a part of delivering positive change.

The Estates team sits within the wider Corporate Property service, responsible for Estates Management, Facilities Management, Premises (building repairs and improvements), Garages, Regeneration Projects and Business Centres.

Our expanding portfolio comprises light industrial estates, neighbourhood shopping parades, the Weltech Business Centre, town centre commercial units, residential units, land and various other assets throughout the borough.

The role is ideal for an experienced surveyor looking to take the next step in their career.

About you

  • You will be educated to degree level with significant commercial property management experience, including lease renewals, rent reviews, and landlord and tenant law.
  • You will have the ability to produce valuations and negotiate with other parties on property transactions of all types.
  • You will have knowledge of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
  • You will work competently with colleagues and contractors, instructing other teams and external professionals as required.
  • You will act as a point of contact for the team for internal and external customers.
  • Driven and ambitious, you will have the ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative.
  • You will be able to communicate and build relationships effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will have a proven track record of implementing new processes to achieve improved efficiency.
