Head of Operational Project Delivery, Government Property Agency

The key purpose of the Head of Operational Project Delivery role is to lead the Project Delivery team within the Operations Directorate of the GPA. The Project Delivery Team liaises directly with clients in order to respond to requirements for non-scheduled projects to be undertaken by third-party contractors. The Head of Operational Project Delivery is responsible for ensuring that all Facilities Management and Asset Management Projects are delivered in a timely fashion and within agreed budget limitations. The post holder has line management responsibility for a growing team of Project & Workplace Management professionals.

Essential Criteria

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent).

• Extensive experience leading complex projects.

• Experience of working in a multi-client

service organisation in a relevant field.

• Membership of a relevant professional body.

• Prior experience of effectively managing teams.

• Ability to achieve positive outcomes in conflict situations.

• Experience of developing high performing teams.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively to a range of levels and cultures.

• Commitment to continuous improvement.

• Experience of tracking work/activity using IT systems.

• Experience of dealing with contractors, stakeholders and client side relationships in a multi-client environment.

• Practical experience in negotiation skills that have achieved positive outcomes.

Desirable:

• Formal Procurement Qualification.

• Prior contract management experience.

• Ability to think strategically/analytically.

• Commercial management experience.
