Commercial Manager - Consultancy - Banking Client

£35,000 - £45,000 + Package Benefits

A market leading, Global Real Estate firm servicing FTSE 100 companies requires a Commercial Manager to work on a dedicated account for a major financial institution.

The Role

A Regional Cost Manager is required to lead the commercial management function as part of the Global Project Governance Office within the UK and Ireland for a Banking Client account. This role is to be based full-time at the client's offices in London and is part of a global team.

The Cost Manager's primary responsibility will be to liaise with the Regional Programme Manager to challenge capital expenditure requests and help advise accurate forecasting for the Regional Rolling Capital Plan (RCP). In addition the Cost Manager must continually review process and procedure and look for efficiencies of live projects, so that the Bank may achieve better value through its capital expenditure.

You will be a QS / Cost Management professional from either a construction or consultancy background.

Banking / commercial office, retail, fit out, programme management experience would be beneficial however our client is very focused on finding those with transferable skills from other sectors who wish to move into this field.

Experience / Education Required

  • A minimum 2 years of relevant quantity surveying industry experience.
  • Graduate degree in a sector related subject.
  • Professional background within a corporate office environment

  • Excellent client relationship, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, confident and experienced in dealing with stakeholders of all levels.
  • A team player that interacts effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload with an attention to detail and willingness to complete projects.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when necessary.
  • Proactive and positive attitude with a calm and methodical approach to work.
  • Ability to learn new tasks, systems, processes and skills quickly.
  • A 'can do' attitude.
