HCC Property Services is a significant in-house public service business. We are a forward thinking organisation with a national reputation for delivery, design, and asset management and construction procurement. The service supports Hampshire County Council and other public sector clients delivering major projects and programmes as well as the management of thousands of properties and land assets. We are going through a period of transformation introducing a new operating model, restructuring the business, introducing new digital platforms and actively seeking new business opportunities. This brand new role has been created to lead and shape our commercial strategy and financial management of a £40 million plus business. Our aim is to ensure a cost-effective service which produces a surplus for reinvestment in service delivery to our clients. The ownership, creation and maintenance of a medium term business plan will ensure the service has a structured approach to delivering our vision.

As an active member of the Leadership Team, you will attend the Strategic Management Board to provide leadership, support and challenge. Making decisions that contribute to the development of strategy across our multi-disciplinary service, you will develop new business proposals, help shape our commercial approach and take responsibility for a range of budget management and expenditure.

We are open to applications from professionals in either the public or private sector but it is essential you have appropriate experience at a leadership level in the property arena. You will be able to demonstrate excellence in commercial management, an understanding of leadership in a complex organisation and have a good grasp of strategic financial management.
