Ready to be part of world-class transformational infrastructure projects?

London has the largest, busiest and one of the most modern mass transit systems in the world. And behind its operation is TfL. A place where history meets cutting edge technology. We have extensive experience of tackling the transport needs of what is a truly diverse and populous capital city, head on. We create world-class infrastructure projects that act as a catalyst for investment and regeneration. As part of the Operational Property team, you’ll work on initiatives that make a significant difference to the millions who live, work and visit London. It is a role that will call on all your skills and provide excellent scope to hone them further.

You’ll enjoy a huge variety of challenges and opportunities

Taking on a varied and interesting portfolio of responsibilities, you’ll be a member of our experienced team of surveyors. Working on some of our most challenging and complex property matters, you’ll find that no two days are ever the same in this key role. Senior leaders across the TfL Group and the wider GLA family will rely on your expert advice and support in the acquisition of land and property. This will be done either by agreement or under compulsory purchasing powers, and you’ll play an important part in the negotiations. Across some of our most significant projects, you’ll enjoy great scope to extend your knowledge and abilities by taking a hands-on approach to surveying.

A role so challenging and rewarding demands a wide range of skills

As an experienced MRICS professional, you’ll bring to the role a full spectrum of general practice surveying activities. You will be familiar with everything from town planning, to acquisition, to landlord and tenant, and compulsory purchase processes. Knowledge of relevant technology systems will be equally important. With understanding of the key drivers and risks of potential transactions, you will have the ability to analyse a variety of issues and plot a path to a successful outcome. From providing advice and briefings, to taking part in negotiations, your communication skills really set you apart.

The rewards are as impressive as your achievements

In return for your expertise, along with the knowledge that you’ll be playing a vital role, we can offer an excellent benefits package including final salary pension scheme and a generous holiday entitlement of 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays. You can make significant savings on travel thanks to a free Oyster Card travel pass; 75% discount on national rail season ticket and interest free loan; and discounted travel on the Eurostar. You can also choose to take advantage of a discounted private healthcare scheme and a host of retail, health, leisure and travel offers.
