In SNH, we recognise the benefits of Scotland’s natural capital to improve prosperity and wellbeing, and the need to encourage sustainable management of nature. Your professional expertise will mainly be sought by the Area teams in the north of Scotland, including Moray and Grampian, north of Inverness, and the Northern Isles, to contribute to the management of some of the most special places in these areas. We will look to you to build relationships with land managers, and to explore and develop cost effective approaches to managing biodiversity and protected nature sites. We also need you to contribute to wildlife management, and in particular in relation to deer, and the mitigation of beaver impacts in Tayside. SNH recognises the contribution that a rural surveyor can provide to our teams, in considering the practical, legal, contractual and financial implications of rural land management.
SNH aims to recruit, retain and motivate our employees and ensure a good work-life balance, with a number of non-financial rewards, including flexible working hours and attractive terms and conditions for holiday leave (41.5 days pro-rata) and pension amongst others. We provide modern workplaces and allow flexibility in how and where we work, including occasional working from home.
You would be part of a wider supportive SNH rural surveyor network, sharing advice and experience, and opportunities for development.
If you are qualified as a rural practice chartered surveyor, or have completed an RICS accredited degree with a view to working towards qualification, go to www.snhjobs.co.uk to find out more about the role, and to apply online.
