Project Cost Consultant

The Role

A requirement for a Cost Consultant has arisen in Central London for one of the most respected consultancies in the industry.

You would be working alongside some of the most charismatic guys in the business, the idea is that you would deliver numerous small projects on your own and get involved in some of the larger ones within a team giving you as much exposure and responsibilities that you want.

Schemes and projects will involve Residential, Student Accommodation, Retail, Hotels, Commercial, Sports/Leisure and Healthcare.

This role really offers great exposure, my client has told me that they would play to the candidate's strengths in terms of what projects they do, but if diversity is what they want then they will be given the opportunity.

A massive part of this role is working with clients and building relationships.

About you

If you have always had a passion for the built environment, have a quantity surveying related degree and have at least 3 years' experience working as a cost consultant then this could be the role for you.

Personality is a big part of this role, having sound technical knowledge is vital but they don't want someone to just sit in the background, they need someone that has the ability to voice their opinion when necessary.

If you are a member of the RICS then this would be desirable and would help your application, if not my client would want to help you through this qualification.

The Client

My client is based in a central London (Mayfair), they work on projects ranging from £100k-£300 million.

They have around 80 people based in the London office, split between QS, BS and PM.

My client has a great mixture of people working for them, I know this because I placed half of them there.

As a company they work hard for each other, let's say someone has a deadline and they are slightly behind, others will join in and help if this means everyone leaving the office at a reasonable time.

My client will offer flexibility to work from home if needed.
