The opportunity:

Are you an experienced Estates Surveyor who likes to provide an effective, efficient, professional service? Come and join our Asset Management and Estates team and help make a difference to the lives of our residents within West Sussex.

You will be responsible for undertaking general estate management, delivering an effective and reliable service that develops and co-ordinates property asset management across County Council services. You will provide valuation advice, estimates and general professional advice on property matters. You will also advise on the effective management of property holdings, identify potentially surplus property, arrange disposals and conduct negotiations on lease and licence terms. You will have a particular focus on reviewing rents on properties across the estate, renegotiating and renewing agreements to maximise the Councils income. Additionally you will be trained on overseeing the payment and monitoring of all the councils business rates and council tax billing, challenging where appropriate.

Your role is extremely varied and you will be required to support and assist the professional team in the delivery of a comprehensive and cost effective service covering policy and strategy, asset management reviews, commissioning and delivery of services – all against a background of maximising efficiencies and generating revenue income from our varied asset base.
