Head of Projects – Retail (Shopping Centres)

Salary – to £100k including car allowance, plus generous pension, bonus up to 40% and benefits

Our client, a retail, commercial and residential developer, is currently seeking a Head of Projects to lead an internal team of 5 Project Managers to deliver a variety of redevelopment, refurbishment, extension and fit out projects in the retail environment.

Key accountabilities:

• Responsibility both individually and collective for the retail portfolio project management team for the delivery of a range of Capital projects including refurbishments and new build projects up to £10m
• To work with the wider management team to understand the future project works and plan accordingly.
• Coordinate and oversee the workload of the project team.
• Ensure that the status of all projects are visible to the relevant stake holders.
• Ensure that all projects comply with the business processes.
• Work closely with others to ensure that projects are adequately resourced from a technical perspective. Ensure that a consistent approach is maintained.
• Manage relationships with our external consulting partners to ensure the correct resource is available for future projects.
• Manage our contracting supply chain, ensuring that our supplier base is suited to the works being undertaken.
• Support the Asset team with feasibility studies where required.

Person Specification:

• Strong track record in delivering retail projects for either a client or consultancy
• Excellent internal management and motivational abilities
• Adaptable, dynamic and enthusiastic
• Articulate, commercially aware and able to identify opportunities to add value through application of relevant skill set
• High level of written and verbal communication skills
