An exciting and career defining opportunity has arisen in our Bristol office for a Building Surveyor at Associate Director level. The team has seen significant growth over the last 12 months and we now require an experienced MRICS/FRICS candidate to support the Regional Director in the next stage of growth.

Building Surveying forms part of our Project and Asset Management Division and works synergistically with our Project Management, M&E Asset Management, Safety Management, Geospatial and Data Management teams to provide better value asset management solutions to clients across the UK and Internationally. This is based on a holistic, systematic, risk- based, optimal and sustainable approach.

Your Role

As the Associate Director for the region, your role will be to support the development and growth of a team of building surveyors under the guidance of the Regional Director. The role will encompass; client development, leading and delivering work programmes, bidding, tendering, work winning and supporting development of our graduate and consultant building surveyors through their APC. With the support of the UK Building Surveying Director, the Asset Management Service Directors and the wider business, you will play a key role in growing the team by utilising the existing WYG client base as well as developing and securing external market opportunities. You will achieve this by building strong relationships at local and regional level with key WYG colleagues and by responding to and creating opportunities in the external market, developing existing and forging new relationships. Alongside this, you will actively undertake challenging building surveying related projects, advising high profile clients on a range of professional and project matters. 

About You

Skills and Experience:

  • Chartered building surveyor (MRICS or FRICS) with 5-plus years PQE.
  • Delivering building surveying services across a variety of sectors and work types
  • Confident in preparing proposals, bids, submissions and responding to ITT’s and PQQ’s
  • Managing part of a building surveying team either in the context of a building surveying business or within a larger corporate or multi-disciplinary business
  • Confident and articulate with clients in delivering technical building surveying solutions
  • Capable of developing strong networks and relationships across clients, client groups and the business community
  • Nurturing and developing talent, managing and enhancing careers
  • Experienced in all aspects of building surveying and project implementation
  • Capable of thinking outside the box and developing imaginative solutions to client problems

  • Strategic thinker, capable of understanding commercial business needs
  • passionate in delivering the best possible outcomes for clients
  • Organised with an eye for detail but able to see the big picture
  • Experienced in most areas of Building Surveying practice
  • Comfortable with managing significant projects with minimal assistance
  • Ambitious about advancing your career
