  • Effectively manage higher level programme risks and dependencies.
  • Work closely with the customer Senior User to ensure that benefits are appropriate, accurately identified, recorded, tracked and realized, and that all opportunities are exploited.
  • Provide progress updates to various internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Address any problems arising and follow through to satisfactory closure; escalate problems or issues that cannot be resolved to the SRO.
  • Provide education, guidance, advice and coaching on programme management best practice to sub-programme colleagues.

About the Defence Estate Optimisation Programme

If you are looking for your next challenge and the opportunity to shape the future of Defence, we are looking to build our core team with people who have the vision to take the programme through to successful delivery. Our team is embedded with military colleagues and requires a range of estate, construction and programme/project management staff. Being able to think imaginatively and challenge the accepted norm is a must.

Working right at the heart of Defence, the DEO Programme is a unique initiative tasked with reducing the size of the MOD’s built estate whilst delivering more modern infrastructure to meet future military requirements. It was mobilised in 2016 as one of Defence’s top three priorities and plays a major part in wider Government projects.

It’s a fast-paced environment that both support the future Defence capabilities of the country and will influence infrastructure development for years to come. We will invest £4Bn over the next ten years in core Defence sites on a range of facilities for Service Personnel and their families releasing many other sites for disposal.

Company

The DIO play a vital role in supporting Defence by leading and managing the delivery of what the Armed Forces need to live, work, train and deploy on operations. Under the Future DIO Transformation Programme, DIO will become the Ministry of Defence’s professional estate services business and realise our organisational vision of providing a better estate, a better service and a better business.

As part of the MOD, we are responsible for all acquisition, disposal, allocation of assets, construction and maintenance of estate infrastructure in the UK and overseas.
