Capital Project Manager - Central Government

Your new company
Hays Property & Surveying have partnered with our client, a large public-sector body based in North London, in search of a Project Manager for a 1-year contract. Our client supports several government bodies and other public-sector organizations and are seeking support for a large site handling multiple capital projects.

Your new role
As the Project Manager, you will be required to manage multiple capital building projects on behalf of the client and making sure that they are delivered on time, on budget and on spec. This includes management of the full project life cycle from brief, preparing budget costing, submission of bids, tendering, procurement as well as contract and construction management. You will develop, influence and gain approval for project plans and project budgets from the Programme Manager or Project Board to meet customer expectations as well as manage contractors and ensure compliance in terms of performance, cost and quality of all works. Projects will include refurbishments, redevelopments, fit outs and new builds.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate in this competition, you will be a member of the Association for Project Management (APM) or Institute of Building and Facilities Management (BIFM). MRICS is preferred but not essential. You will also have experience of managing multiple high value construction or refurbishment projects, ideally within a public-sector organization or similar regulated complex construction environment. Finally, you will have experience in the management of consultants and professional teams to support the delivery of your projects, while working effectively across varied departments and engaging with a wide array of different stakeholders.

What you'll get in return
In exchange for your hard work, you will be paid an hourly rate as well as a High Cost Area Supplement. You are also entitled to a 37.5 hour work week, paid standard holiday allowance rolled into your rate and the opportunity to work with a high performing team.
