To help deliver this ambition the Estates team need to recruit a experienced Head of Projects. 

Your New Role 
The purpose of the role is to support in the strategic leadership and effective management of the Estates Department and to take responsibility for the leadership of delivery of capital projects.

A critical part of the position will be to ensure the team maintains its focus on delivering key University objectives and adopts a proactive, customer focused approach in the delivery of services which support high quality environments for students, staff and other stakeholders.

A key requirement will be the ability to develop the in-house team of 6 in addition to managing commissioned projects, delivering a strong sense of leadership.

The role holder will be required to travel between university sites (Stafford, Lichfield and Shrewsbury) on occasions, however the position will predominantly be based at the Stoke campus.

Experience Required 
In order to be considered for the position, you must have proven experience in delivering complex capital projects where there is often conflicting project demands. Alongside this, you must be educated to degree level in a construction and property discipline (e.g. Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Building Surveying, Engineering, Project Management etc). An additional professional qualification such as MRICS, MRIBA, MCIOB, MCIBSE is essential.

About You 
You will have the ability to prioritise complex and often conflicting project demands ensuring appropriate risk management techniques are implemented. You will have the ability to communicate complex information to a range of audiences and stakeholders effectively using a variety of mediums. You will also possess the ability to develop new working methods, providing novel and imaginative solutions to improve work procedures and culture and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels, both internally and externally. Finally, you will have excellent organisational skills with experience of managing multiple programmes of work with competing deadlines and challenging budgets.
